A natural burial ground rooted in community.
This is an invitation to offer your body back to the earth, to root yourself in place.
This is a place your humans can spend time with you, by candlelight, sunlight, twinkle-light, or fireside with friends.
The land welcomes our flowers placed on graves of our beloved dead, our songs of grief echoing through the trees.
In green or natural burial, the body is not embalmed or placed in a metal casket or otherwise prevented from decomposing. The body is buried in natural wood or fibers, 3 feet down. Special plants can be grown atop the grave, which people can even harvest food from.
Located south of Mount Tahoma in Washington state, in the small town of Cinebar, this humble seven acres of grass field, native northwest forest, and a clear-running creek, is being nurtured and restored, and will continue to evolve in beauty as humans plant themselves there.
You can have space to perform your own traditions or rituals, or talk with us for guidance or referrals. Maybe camp out on your future grave.
